Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
The last Harry Potter book was a very intense. Many twists and turns were on the way to the end. There was much controversy over the end whether J.K Rowling would let the hero live or follow the ways of her writing having the darkness overcome. The ending will not be revealed however it was not dissapointing through the intellegence, bravery, and love or lack there of shown on both sides. The characterization, symbolism, visual effects, and imagery really made me feel like I was there seeing what they were seeing. J.K Rowling really brings you into the world. I was very pleased with this book, however I felt that their were some loose ends that weren't tied up. I felt that the ending went through to fast. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys adventure, love, suspence, and mystery. The whole series of these books led up to the one even that happened in the ending chapters of this last book. I became attatched to many characters and had to awknowledge the harsh dealth of many of them through the battles with the powerful and evil antagonists.

A Raisin in the Sun
If I were to receive a check of this sum of money it may not create happiness. Money can lead to problems. When people receive money their is often greed involved. Money can't buy happiness some people have a hard time handling money and don't know what to do about it. Money can buy materialistic things but even the richest people in the world can be miserable.
One of my personal dreams is to become a successful veterinarian. This dream is very important to me because of my long to be, work with, and help animals. I am likely to succeed as long as I work my hardest and try my best in school work and stay on the right track, which I plan to do. Some obstacles I will most likely face is the lack of money through the many years of college, and the competition for going to vet school. A way to avoid failure is to live very thriftily and to always thrive to do the best that I can. My dreams aline with the dreams my parents have for me. They want me to do what I have a passion for and to be successful in life. Being a vet is a hard job but it is what I have a huge passion for and plan on being successful at.

Night by Elie Wiesel (pre-reading statements)
People often refuse to acknowledge unpleasant things. This statement means that when people are faced with things that aren’t right they tend to ignore them. This statement is true and hard to admit being that most humans fall prey to this. This statement reminds me of the Holocaust and how people refused to accept that wrong was going on. People did not speak out as they saw the Jews being mistreated, however not all remained silent.
Difficult situations can cause people to lose their faith. This statement means that as things get hard people start doubting the way they live. This statement is true how like refusing to accept things they refuse to continue in their old ways when things get bad. This statements reminds me of religions. When some people end their faith in God after something horrible happens, or happened to them. After most people go through a hard time they feel like they didn't deserve it and that everything is going wrong. People lose faith as soon as things start to get bad.
Group pressure can make you act against your will. Pressure from more than one person can force you to do something you dont want to do. I believe that this statement is true in some cases, however it is not always true. When people come together they can make you do something you wouldnt normally do. This makes me think of school and peer pressure. When a lot of people are pressuring one to do something its hard for you to say no escpecially if their your friends.

"On Wiesel's Night" by Thomas E. Thornton
Some of the lines in the poems stood out to me as I read. The whole poem as it speaks of death and loss, and how society must learn of these hardships through teachings of different ways. The Holocaust was so disastrous that words cannot even describe these horrible events. In line 10 it speaks of a pointer, showing the randomness of the death that came to these people. The pointer of death, as millions died and were scarred for life. This teacher could not teach of this event as it is to hard to place in words but they wanted them to learn and for the book that is given to “leave them scarred for life” (line 4).

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by: J.K. Rowling
I like what I read today because J.K Rowling has a great voice in her literature. She gives us an image in our mind of this magical world. I enjoy reading this book because it puts you in a place so different than where you live. The descriptive words in the story stick out so greatly in your head. When I read this book the time flys by. I lose track of the time as i read the book because the author really does put you in that other world. Snape the potionsmaster still confuses me on whether he is good or evil. Snape seemed to be on the good side but he killed Dumbledor and now is aiding Voldemort in finding Harry. However Snape could be trying to trick Voldemort by making it seem that he is helping him, while really aiding the good side. Harry Potter, the main character, is really going through a tough time in his life. Both of his parents died as a child and a raving murderous wizard has been trying to regain power in order to get to him. Harry became very close with his headmaster at Hogwarts, along with his godfather. Sadly, both were murdered in the last book as a shock to Harry. In this book Harry is seems to be remenissing over the past. The wizarding world is making a plan to fight off Voldemort and his army, and to keep Harry safe. Hagrid, Mad Eye Mooney, Tonks, Kingsley, the Weasley kids, and other friends from the wizarding world came Harry's Muggle house (the Dursley's) and came up with a plan to get Harry to another place without Voldemort finding him. I am curious as to see what happens next. I really enjoy reading the Harry Potter books.
